Penguins are a common theme in Russian nesting dolls. This set is from the Brest region. Purchased unopened in Brest factory plastic wrap. All susceptible to "Brest chipping".
This is a real strange "like it or hate" doll. The color schemes are unusual. USSR label. Matte lacquer.
