This unusual solid doll is from the Brest region. Pictured in the Collectors Guide to Nesting Dolls on page 35 it is described as “Smurfsky”. A very unusual little man with orange hat, and orange hair and mustache, he is very uniquely shaped, with his tipped cap covering one eye. The orange paint on this doll is crazed and chipping with age, not uncommon on these old Brest dolls.
