The Bukovina Hutzel or Gutzel family is Ukrainian from the town of Chernovtzi. The box states that the factory is "Bukovina" but on the inside flap it also credits a factory by the name of "Olympia. The box also reads "Made in USSR", placing the doll before the break-up of Communism.
Vitaly of The Russian Shop remembers them as actually pre-Perestroika as well, putting them in the early or mid 1980s.
