This 4 1/2" tall wood doll that opens up to reveal nothing!!! The face and hair are the distinctive style of older doll sets from the Polkhovsky region of the USSR. The label on the bottom is dated 1975. It is similar to the bottle holders made in the area, but is not bottle shaped. Perhaps it would hold a small spice jar, pot, caviar tin or something similar. The Collectors Guide lists this as a Czarinka box – and lists it is rare.
