This set of Russian Nesting Dolls is painted in the traditional style in Sergiev Posad, Russia. The dolls have cheerful faces with large happy eyes.
Each doll is carefully turned on a lathe out of a branch of linden wood, then hand-painted, and lacquered. The largest matryoshka is over 5 inches tall and the smallest is just over 1 inch tall.
