This doll features The Tale of Tsar Saltan by Aleksander Pushkin and features recreations of the illustrations by artist Ivan Bilibin, the doll is 7” and 9 pieces. This is a very high quality Art Matryoshka and is painted with great detail and great skill by the artist reproducing the Ivan Bilibin illustrations. The full title of the poem and opera is: The Tale of Tsar Saltan, of his Son the Renowned and Mighty Bogatyr Prince Gvidon Saltanovich and of the Beautiful Princess-Swan.
A similar 10” doll is produced by Golden Cockerel (retail $310) but is sold by The Museum of Russian Art for $285.
