AQ22. Older Yoshkar Ola Dolls 5” 4n

This is an older set of dolls from this region that Vitaly of The Russian Shop previously identified as Moldavia, but which a friend knows are from Yoshkar Ola (Mari El). This set has a sticker on the bottom dated 1989:

LPTO Mari-El, Volzhk Timber Company,

Souvenir Matryoshka 5 pieces, Price 6 roubles

This set is missing the smallest doll and all of the dolls fit very tightly and strangely. The dolls open part way and then the long inner lips get stuck and very difficult to pull apart.
