This is a VERY unusual doll from the Polhov Maidan region of the USSR. It is 7 1/2" tall, and is a single doll. It opens at the waist and the bottom serves as a container - perhaps for tea, salt, etc. This vintage doll is one-of-a-kind...I have never seen another one! It is decorated with the typical big bright Polhov flowers, as well as designs, eyes, and feathers done in black ink. There is slight fading on the back due to age but the doll is in excellent condition.
