This miniature egg comes apart and there is a miniature wooden doll inside. It is hand painted and is 1 1/4" long and 7/8" in diameter. It is from the 1940s.
Most likely made in Germany for the English market - as these dolls are traditional to England. The egg contains a tiny, penny doll that is completely jointed. The doll is in wonderful condition. Similar dolls have sold for over $100.
