Here is a cute twist on the Russian nesting doll style. This is a set of 5 nesting dolls made in the late 1940's in the US Zone of Germany. The largest doll is about 3-1/2 inches tall and the pieces appear to represent a hotel or restaurant staff (not entirely certain about the smallest doll. The set is in good shape; however, there is significant paint loss to the largest doll - looks like it has been scraped. There is also a dent on the bottom of that piece, but it has been painted over - flaw, not damage. A great set.
